This will be the final post or pre-orders until our return from CHA 2012.

Ready and accepting pre-orders on Heidi Swapp’s new releases. We have made a preliminary selection, once we have visited the Heidi Swapp booth we will surely be adding more goodies.

Upon our return from CHA which will be Thursday Feb. 2nd, there will be lots to do preparing all the samples for Multicrafts own CHA show.

If you haven’t done so yet, please send in your pre-orders on Bobunny, My Minds Eye, Echo Park and Teresa Collins, these companies will be shipping right after CHA, so we will have them in our warehouse, shortly.

Just a reminder, we will not be shipping any orders Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. Shipping will resume on Thursday Feb 2nd.

This morning I visited Tim’s Blog http://www.timholtz.typepad.com/ and took a look at Tim’s first 4 tags. Did you know Multicrafts carries Tim Holtz products? You can visit Shop by Brand or click Tim Holtz logo to take you directly to his products, or you can simply type in the search bar the supplier number and it will take you directly to that particular product. Did you also know Multicrafts has some unique items of their own for some of the HARD to find products used in Tim’s Tags.

Here are some of MultiCrafts’ unique items like Jingle Bells, Rope Garlands, Jute and Sinmay ribbon.

He also seems to use Glossy Accents, but as we don’t carry that brand we do have Crystal Lacquer available, which has the same application.

FAQ–Inks

Clear Snap has many great new products on their way soon to the warehouse, but did you know we already carry their Archival Inks in a 2” cat eye or queue’s. (SS742 & –SS743 on the website)

What is the difference between dye ink and archival ink?

Archival Ink is fade and water-resistant, dye-based ink. It dries on all types of paper like a dye ink, however, unlike water-based dye ink Archival Ink won’t smear when brushed over with watercolors and water-based markers. Stamp out a line image in Archival Inks and let it dry. Use watercolors, a water brush, or water-based markers without fear of ‘the smear’. Archival Inks are the perfect choice for journals, scrapbooks or any stamped image that needs permanence. . They also work well on glass, dominoes (and other game pieces), plastic, fabric, metal, leather and polymer clay.

What is the difference between dye ink and pigment ink?

Pigment inks are thick and opaque while dye inks are thinner in consistency and transparent. This means that Pigment inks appear similar in the stamp pad to the color they stamp out. Dye Ink’s thinner consistency makes them more concentrated so they appear darker in the stamp pad bearing no resemblance to the color the ink will stamp out . Dyes dissolve in solution and blend well while pigments do not dissolve, making them easier to clean off of hands and stamps. Pigments are more light and heat stable than most dyes, which makes pigment inks a good choice when your finished art will be displayed. Pigment Inks take longer to dry and are a good choice to use as an embossing ink. Water based, pigment inks do not dry on coated paper or non-porous surfaces. Dye Inks dry quickly on all types of paper making them easier to work with and a favorite of many crafters.

FAQ on Pre-Orders

Recently, I have received many questions on how to pre-order with MultiCrafts. I will try to answer all your questions here in this post. If I have not answered your question, please leave a comment and I will reply.

Q. Where/How do I place my pre-orders?
A. Once you log in, on the home page there is a pre-order section (see image) and from there simply click on the supplier’s logo and add to the shopping cart.
Click on the (house) at anytime to return to the home page. Repeating the process until you are finished. Submit your cart and at the warehouse I will make separate invoices for each supplier.

Q. What happens if I mix preorders with my regular shopping?
A. Again if there are enough preorder items I will make a separate invoice and you will not see it with your regular items, but if you see them on your invoice as “zero ship” it is because there was not enough to warrant a separate invoice(less than $50.00) and I will keep them as backorders. At which time you will be contacted when the item(s) has arrived.

Q. How do I know when my pre-orders will ship?
A. I will post on the blog when shipments have arrived in the warehouse. If your pre-order is on that list, you must contact me if you wish to add, otherwise, it will be shipped as is. Also, it will be accumulated with other shipments that may be arriving that same week. If that is the only order I have it will ship next business day.

Q. How long do I have to place a pre-order?
A. Generally, we would like to see everyone’s pre-orders within 2 weeks of when they are posted on the website. This gives us a good idea of interest and we can place our initial order.(so watch the intro date carefully) example below:

We can make changes to your pre-order but only if the shipment has not yet left the suppliers warehouse.
For the most part, we do order sufficient product, but there are times when customers require larger quantities of certain items, this is where it is very important for us to know, so our purchase order can be adjusted accordingly. (initial order is based on each customer buying the minimum units).

Q. Why do I see the supplier logo in the pre-order section after the shipment has already arrived in the warehouse?
A. I do my best to up-date the pre-order section as shipments which are on route to our warehouse. This does not mean IT IS IN THE WAREHOUSE, only on route and there is anywhere from 5 – 10 days travel time & customs clearance.
There are times when I do not know if our Purchase Order is shipping complete, so I must wait until the shipment has physically arrived before removing it from the pre-order section. This is where things get a little tricky, as I want to only remove the “pre-order” off the products that have not been back-ordered by the supplier.

Q. Why when I place a pre-order I did not receive a 100% fill rate?
A. Firstly, because your pre-order was after the 2 week time frame.
Secondly, because you ordered large quantities, and we could not adjust our purchase order with the supplier.
Thirdly, your order was placed when the shipment was already on route. Fourthly, we ship preorders by date received, and when we got to yours the items were out of stock, (because of reasons above).
Finally, the items were not removed from preorder status, but the shipment had already arrived in the warehouse and is out of stock.

Q. What is my commitment when i place a pre-order?
A. We do not charge your credit card until your order leaves the warehouse, so there is no prepayment required. You may only cancel a pre-order as long as it has not yet arrived in the warehouse. Please note, your pre-orders simply tell us if you are interested in buying, we do understand things happen unexpectedly.

Here is a neat idea using the newest products from Prima Marketing, art mediums (gesso) & Glimmer Mist.

Alyssa McGrew used our Prima’s 4x6 canvas album, a bit of gesso, a clear stamps and Glimmer Mist to create this FABULOUS look!

First stamp on the cover with the Notary stamp using gesso. Then mist over it. The effect is totally sweet! The gesso will resist the mists creating this soft effect.

The gesso stamp trick will work beautifully with any Glimmer Mist color. Just let the stamped image dry thoroughly first. Then spray away!
